When it comes to teachers, our standards are as high as yours. At Funshine Preschool, childcare, and education services are provided by trained, dedicated teachers who love what they do!
To ensure staff quality, we conduct a pre-hiring assessment that identifies high-quality candidates.
We check references and conduct thorough background checks based on state and/or local licensing requirements. This includes fingerprinting and appropriate criminal background checks, as well as verification of educational credentials. Candidates who will transport children undergo a thorough driving history check and annual checks.
We do this to protect the most valuable part of our center: your child. That’s also why all of our teachers go through annual in-service training to stay current and apply the latest in early childhood education to ensure and create a nurturing educational environment. Learning experiences are based on the unique needs and interests of children in their class. And a low student-to-teacher ratio means more individual attention.

The Director
The owner and director of Funshine Preschool and Nursery is Mia Fiorucci. Mia is a resourceful and detail-oriented professional with 20+ years of experience in the early childhood education field. She has an extensive knowledge in childcare management and operations, supervising and coaching teams of 20+ employees. Mia started Funshine Preschool in the Longwood/Lake Mary area in order to meet the needs of the growing community and to fulfill her goal of educating young children.
Originally from Bolivia, Mia has lived in the US since she was 18. She attended Harcum College, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and studied Early Childhood education. After graduating, moved to Fairfax, Virginia where her work experience with young children of all ages began. She moved to Florida in 2003.
Since then, she has owned and operated several childcare centers and her passion in the field continues to grow. She is committed to providing high-quality care for the overall successfull academic and life ahead of the children in her care.
